about the two scan modes: scan with cleaning or scan with cleaning

When I received an alert email from ESET PROTECT ,for instance: [A malicious file has been detected.] , I'll search and scan the device manually .

However, since there are two scan modes : Scan With Cleaning or Scan without Cleaning , I'm not sure under what circumstances to execute each mode.

I looked through the manual but couldn't find an answer.

Is there anyone who can help explain this?

Managed Endpoint cleans threats automatically (uses "Always remedy detection" cleaning mode).

If you want to run an on-demand scan and clean found detections, run a scan with cleaning. If you don't want the scanner to take any action, run a scan without cleaning.

Thanks for your explaination !

Until now, I thought I should choose the scan with cleaning mode if the detected object is a file , and for other objects (such APPs or messages) I should choose the scan without cleaning mode .

So, if the eamil notification says  [Detection Processed : Yes] ,I don’t need to  manually scan it again , right?

For instance, you might want to run a scan without cleaning if you enable PUA/PUsA detection and want to create detection exclusions before running a scan with cleaning.
