Hello,

we have problem to upgrade ESA to version 3.0.73.0 using MSI installer and Transforms file (.mst). Fresh installation works with no problem, only upgrade installation failed.

From LOG there is error: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation --> System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'C:\Windows\Temp\esa_saved_upgrade_session'.

There is not such file during installation, there is similar file named : esa_saved_upgrade_session_from_removal_to_main.

Do you have similar problems? This is the first time we have this issues with ESA upgrade from another version.

Upgrade using command line with MSI works (except that we have to follow exact component order , f.i ADDLOCAL="Win_Credential_Provider,Credential_Provider" not ADDLOCAL="Credential_Provider,Win_Credential_Provider" )

We are using WSUS package publisher for installation.

Hello all,

for those who have this issue, this is workaround:

1/ rename "esa_saved_upgrade_session_from_removal_to_main" which will be in %TEMP% directory to esa_saved_upgrade_session"

2/proceed with upgrade

3/ After upgrade it is safe to remove "esa_saved_upgrade_session" and "esa_saved_upgrade_session_from_removal_to_main".

ESA has been nothing but problems of late. Not surprised with your issues.
