Greetings,

Ace Stream software is based on a peer-to-peer multimedia streaming protocol, built using BitTorrent technology. It is very popular for broadcasting and viewing live video streams.

When you start watching a stream, ESS immediately creates a "htt****.tmp" file in C:\Windows\Temp\ directory. The longer you watch, the larger this file becomes. As soon as you stop the playback, it is automatically removed. So there's no need to delete these temp files manually, but still they occupy several GBs of disk space every time you watch something.

How can I prevent such files from appearing via ESS settings without getting any possible security issues at the same time?

Please carry on as follows:

  1. Enable advanced logging under Help and support -> Technical support
  2. Launch Ace Stream and start watching a stream
  3. After a few seconds quit Ace Stream
  4. Stop logging
  5. Collect logs with ESET Log Collector and upload the generated archive here.

As a workaround you can exclude Ace Stream in the Web access protection setup:

Which log options do I have to check/uncheck in ESET Log Collector?

You can collect all logs that are selected by default.

Could you export your current settings and remove all urls from the list of blocked addresses to see if it makes a difference? You can import the settings then to restore the blacklist.

Excluding the application C:\Users\OxxxxxxxE\AppData\Roaming\ACEStream\engine\ace_engine.exe and / or C:\Users\OxxxxxxE\AppData\Roaming\ACEStream\player\ace_player.exe in the Web access protection setup should do the trick.

It doesn't. All urls you mentioned were added to the list of blocked addresses rather recently. Without them, everything was exactly the same for a long time.

Excluding the ...\player\ace_player.exe application in the Web access protection setup did the trick, thanks.
