tuan2tech 0 Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Hi you Please guide me to send mail from ESET PROTECT ON -PREM. On the endpoint, I configured it to send, but on the management server, I configured it but couldn't send it
Administrators Marcos 5,451 Posted July 1 Administrators Posted July 1 I'd recommend checking the network communication generated during a send email test with Wireshark (or tcpdump on Linux) for possible issues. Anyways, for TLS you should use port 587. Did changing security type to STARTTLS make no difference?

Had set to STARTTLS, and in the email logs, it is showing a connection; but, after a short period, it fails. Unfortunately, I'm not fluent in tcpdump so I'm not too sure how to interpret the results.
Most Valued Members ewong 8 Posted August 26 Most Valued Members Posted August 26 The issue was (for me at least) that the ESET server didn't recognize the Certificate that the email server used (as shown in the Server's log). VerifyCertificateChain: Certificate is not trusted. NodVerifyTrustResult: 13, NVT_DifferentSubject, X509ChainStatus: 0x0, X509CSF_NoError I don't know if this is the same issue with the OP. (if not, I'll need to create a new topic).
Administrators Marcos 5,451 Posted August 26 Administrators Posted August 26 It could be a problem with the mail server. Try to set up SMTP notifications with a Gmail account and SMTP server first.

I took a look at the options in my gmail account and there doesn't seem to be an ability to send email via the smtp server option in the ESET Protect web ui. I entered my credentials and tried a test send; but it failed.
Administrators Marcos 5,451 Posted August 27 Administrators Posted August 27 I use SMTP notifications with a Gmail account via App passwords under Security -> 2-step verification:
