Siagian 0
I recently had to reinstall the operating system on my local disk C due to system issues. However, I have ESET encryption active on the entire computer. Now, after the reinstall, I can't access my data on local disk D, which shows up as a RAW drive. While I'm concerned about the RAW format, I'm relieved that my data might still be there. Is there a way to recover my data from the RAW drive?
ESET Staff Kstainton 39 Posted June 26 ESET Staff Share Posted June 26 (edited) Hi @Siagian, Unfortunately this will simply be due to the fact that the C:\ (System Drive) stores and handles the data used to decrypt the disk, for all disks. As the C:\ (System Drive) has been formatted and reinstalled it no longer has this data to decrypt the disk and thus is showing as RAW because it cannot read it. The data should not be lost. You will need to decrypt the disk using the ESET Recovery Tool: Please install the D:\ as the only disk to perform one of the following processes: EEE Managed: https://support.eset.com/en/kb7160-decrypt-a-managed-system-that-is-unable-to-start-windows EEE Standalone: https://support.eset.com/en/kb7146-decrypt-a-standalone-system-that-is-unable-to-start-windows EFDE: https://help.eset.com/efde/en-US/recovery_data.html Thank you, Kieran Edited June 26 by Kstainton
