AnthonyQ 51
It's been quite a while since the last update of ESET Cyber Security Pro, and it still isn't natively compatible with Apple Silicon. As an ESSP user wanting an Apple Silicon-native AV product for Mac, I have to use ESET Cyber Security V7, which is a lower-tier product. So, I want to know when the next generation of ESET Cyber Security Pro will be released, hopefully including advanced security features like a firewall, machine learning detection, and LiveGuard. bEeReE 4
Eset has so slow development cycles for the Mac versions. No new features since years! Especially content filtering / malicious and phishing sites blocking is not enhanced. Although you can based on SNI/Domain, there is no engine that identifies the full URL of encrypted traffic. I don‘t require encrypted content inspection, but would be happy with at least full URL cross-check and a block page when something is blocked. Competitors have either the full inspection or at least some browser plugins with that functionality.

This is certainly bad news for ESSP users on Mac. 14 minutes ago, bEeReE said: Eset has so slow development cycles for the Mac versions. No new features since years! Also, the absence of pico updates and machine learning-based detection makes ECS less effective in terms of detection capabilities compared to the ESET PC version. ECSP itself is not being discontinued, but ECSP V6 will be reaching its end of life, and this year, ECSP will be upgraded to V8. This makes sense because there are still some advanced security features missing in ECS that necessitate a higher-tier product like ECSP to include these features. The Eset download site notes CyberSecurity Pro will be discontinued. Yet, @Marcos states a new version for it will be released sometime this year. Eset needs to clarify which is the case here. Hello Marcos, MacOS 15 is less than a month away and Q3 is approaching its end in September 2024. Do we have an update regarding V8? Is there a page we can follow for current status from beta testing etc. ? Thank you

Hello Marcos, I just updated to MacOS Sequoia and now I'm getting a pop-up that the ESET CyberSecurity Pro software is incompatible with my current OS and I should download a newer from ESET website. Do we have a link to the latest CyberSecurity Pro software or what should we do post-upgrade to MacOS 15? Thank you ojix2
Administrators Marcos 5,290 Posted September 16 Administrators Share Posted September 16 There will be just one product - ESET CyberSecurity. Version 7.5.74 supports macOS Sequoia. Version 8 with a firewall will be released later this year.

I have installed ESET Cyber Security version 7 from the following KB. https://support.eset.com/en/kb3237-download-install-and-activate-eset-cyber-security-or-eset-cyber-security-pro Before that, after installing macOS 15, my MBP lost network connection, and I solved the problem by deleting ESET filters as mentioned in the following ALERT. https://support.eset.com/en/alert8723-network-connection-lost-after-upgrading-to-macos-15-with-eset-macos-product-v6 These procedures were fairly tough to find this time. More kind and detailed pre-notice, maybe by email, should have been provided by ESET.
