ammar akhtar 0 Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 (edited) This message finds you well. We have ESET in our corporate environment. All policies are configured. There is an issue with HIPS and IDS in policy, when we disable them from the policy it will not reflect in to the end system and when we disable from end user directly then it works. Do there any other constraints regarding policy order. Actually there is the default policy applied and we added this custom policy other than that there is no other policy existing on the particular users. Edited June 11, 2024 by ammar akhtar
Administrators Marcos 5,736 Posted June 11, 2024 Administrators Posted June 11, 2024 Unfortunately it is not clear what the issue is. Are you trying to disable HIPS and IDS via a policy? Could you please elaborate more on why you would do that? Both are crucial protections and should not be disabled.
ammar akhtar 0 Posted June 11, 2024 Author Posted June 11, 2024 Actually, for specific users, we block IDS or Firewall for them temporarily, as they connect the system with various PLC's.
Administrators Marcos 5,736 Posted June 11, 2024 Administrators Posted June 11, 2024 Try to force the setting by selecting the bolt icon in case it was superseded by another policy. If the firewall is blocking a legitimate communication, you can run the firewall troubleshooting wizard to get a list of recently blocked communications and apply the same firewall rules to all machines via a policy.
