When I try to download gomplayer from the gom player home page to my computer, ESET tells me that it has detected a potentially harmful program and asks to disconnect and remove this program. Can't the detection of PUAs result in false positives? I'm not specifically referring to GOM Player, but for instance ESET detects Psiphon3, which is a VPN as a PUA. I don't want to have to exclude it every time I download this software. I've reported it to ESET as a false positive, but haven't had any success. When you try to install this software, they bring so many ads and install another app in the background without user consent. Even worst sometimes this app installed 360 security in the background, then its going to clash with ESET. The behavior of this software is sh*t. I my selft have this app, but I control they behavior with HIPS. Just one thing that I like about this software is their engine player is verry responsive. If the application does what it claims, it shouldn't be labeled as such. It's like listing all the cons of Internet Explorer and flagging it as a PUA because of that. I don't disagree with you about how bad Psiphon is as a product. However, all I'm saying is that Psiphon does what it claims to do. Similarly, Internet Explorer has numerous problems such as performance issues, security vulnerabilities, infrequent updates, and more.
