Device Name is not accepted while installing ESSP

Recommended Posts

So, if I download ESSP installer from my ESET Home account and then proceed to install, as expected it auto detects my account but in place of device name it doesn't accept my current device name stating that it is already installed on a device with that name even though I uninstalled ESET from that device previously. Even in my ESET Home account it shows that I don't have the product installed on any device.

Here, the expected behavior should be for ESET to accept my current device name since ESET is not actively installed on that device.

Looks like the device info is not deleted from ESET's server for some reason. Could this be a bug?

PS: My ESET Home account email is different from my ESET Forum email. Let me know if that info is needed.

Did you try to install using license key option to activate?

Did you choose Protect this device to install ESET on your device and Protect another device to install ESET on other devices?

Tried it, it works. No device name had to be put in and in ESET Home, even though it's not connected, the device name is properly shown, and I can even deactivate protection it seems.

If you choose the current device, you can't use the installer on other machines.

It was downloaded on the same device where I installed. So, it was not a different machine.
