tgr 1
Hello together I have a stupid question: Does it make sense to install eset antivirus and eset inspect on the eset insepct server? thanks for the answer!
Administrators Solution Marcos 5,393 Posted May 22 Administrators Solution Share Posted May 22 I think it's not a bad idea even if the server is not used for browsing websites and you don't open suspicious files on it either.
ESET Staff JamesR 58 Posted May 22 ESET Staff Share Posted May 22 Just adding my thoughts. Yes you should install ESET Server Security and Inspect Connector on the Inspect server. If its an OS that can support the install of some form of Antivirus/Endpoint Security, then you should install an AV/Endpoint Security. It is not uncommon for an adversary to break in to one computer and then move laterally to a server/workstation where there is no AV/Endpoint Security installed (This allows them to download and use malicious tools unhindered). From that unprotected device, they can wreak havoc on the network. So its not just about installing security on devices where end users browse websites, but also on devices that could be misused in a post-compromise situation. j91321
