Hi, when I first installed ESET 8 in my friend's laptop yesterday, the smart was run by itself and gave me notification with something like "For future XXX" May I know how to stop this? I do not set idle state scan too.

Hello,

That sounds like the scheduled "first scan" that starts 20 min after install.  :)

20 minutes after install a "first scan" will run automatically based on a default task set up in the scheduler, the "first scan" is scheduled to check if the system ESET got installed on is malware free. Next time you install/reinstall ESET, you can go into the scheduler in the GUI straight after the install is done and either uncheck the checkbox or delete the whole "first scan" task to prevent the scan from starting 20min later.
