Heavy bug in Version 17.1.9.0 Internet security

Today my Internet security updated from Version 17.0.16.0 to 17.1.9.0

After reboot of my Windows 11 pro (23H2 -22631.3447) everything seems to be ok.

But about 20 min later I started my Proton VPN (paid version). No communication established, waiting some minutes.

First I noticed my WiFi symbol changed to "not connected" and stayes like this for minutes until I cancelled the proton VPN connection request.

The WiFi Symbol changed to connected and all seems OK again.

I restored my Windows  to a previous State (Macrium reflect Image restored) and all is OK, including Proton VPN.

This Bug is reproduceable. I tried it 3 times (update Eset - Restore Windows)

Also: Update to the latest Eset Version 17.1.9.0 breaks proton VPN.

Please fix it as soon as possible. Both Software Packages (ESET, PROTON) are paid packages and I want keep it running in the future.

A hopeful Lionking says thankyou for fixing it soon    🤨

Most likely temporarily disabling http/3 traffic scanning will work around the issue:

Yes, turning off this setting was it.

Now it works as a charm

Thanks a lot

BTW, what is the function of HTTP/3 ??

You can still use Proton VPN with HTTP/3 traffic scanning on, but you need to change protocol settings in Proton to use strictly OpenVpn (udp) and Tap adapter.

OpenVpn is significantly slower than WireGuard, but it's working with HTTP/3 traffic scanning

HTTP/3, based on QUIC, is the third major version of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and was adopted as an IETF standard in 2022. QUIC+HTTP/3 were created to solve inherent limitations with TCP that constrain performance and user experience. - From NGINX website
