Recommended Posts

hello guys

we have got new license , and  downloaded the latest endpoint security product in windows 11   to use it as mirror server for workstation clients

the problem is this :

after I created mirror folder as usual , then i checked  the distention  of the shared mirror folder all what i find just dll folder with its files dll.nup ( about 1.4 GB) , but no single file in the mirror folder itself .is this normal ?

i tried to updated from workstation client but fail Evey time .

Also I uninstalled and reinstall  endpoint again ,but  same problem .

The products is activated successfully

If you want to use a mirror created by Endpoint v11 to update other Endpoint v11 in the network, we recommend enabling the built-in http server so that you can point other endpoints to update from a url instead of a network share. However, to save network traffic, we recommend that endpoints without Internet access update through ESET Bridge so that only the necessary update files are downloaded and cached.

What about missing files in mirror folder . only dll files only created

I've created a mirror with Endpoint v11. There are 1176 *.dll.nup files and update.ver inside.

Thanks bro for reply .

Just to be sure .

From the workstation client side the path should be like this :

\\172.1.1.16\Mirror\dll

Enable http server and then use the update server http://%IPAddress%:2221 on other machines.

I tried but nothing ,same problem cannot update workstations  . it is also asking me for this workstation product activation which is offline  .

In the past I was able to update normally .

Why it keeps asking me for activation if this client is taking update from mirror . ?!

1, Offline computers must be activated with an offline license file.

2, What error do you get if Endpoint on an offline machine is activated with an offline license file and attempts to update from a mirror shared via http://%IPAddress%:2221 by another ESET Endpoint that creates the mirror?

we are using ESET  since 2011 .. all workstation clients  are windows 7 (50 pc) with nod32 antivirus installed till now . every 2 years we renewal the license . all what we do just putting the new license to the online endpoint  security 9.1 which is used as mirror server for the offline nod32 antivirus and every time we activate the endpoint with  the  renewal license ,the workstations start updating normally from the mirror . but

this year we reinstalled  windows11 to be up to date  with endpoint security (the online one )with v11 and created new mirror shared folder ,the endpoint security is updated fine and mirror folder is also created (only dll folder files )

now when i point any workstation client to the new mirror shared folder to get update, it fails to update i tried to clear the cache but same problem . also installed endpoint v11 to some workstations to test ,i get the same problem .

bro, we are not using eset administrator console or protect server or any kind of management application since we used your product till now everything fine .but this time is different .

u telling me to provide offline file for each client??   then ,how about the previous years !!

am i missing something , maybe i do not know  ?

Make sure to creat the mirror with the same version of Endpoint as those that update from it. Or use the mirror tool to create the mirror for different versions of Endpoint.
