Cannot re-discover previous endpoints after complete server update

Recommended Posts

After complete reinstall of the server setup including web console, I cannot now discover my previously managed endpoints. They already have an old agent installed. How do I sync the endpoints to my new server so that I can manage them. I have synced with my AD but I cannot find my devices during initial polling. Am only able to see the server I just installed the new setup on. What do I do?am thinking of uninstalling agent on all endpoints...

You will have to re-deploy the management agent using current ESET PROTECT server settings and certificates.

I tried that, I uninstalled the agents on each endpoint, and used the agent script to install. Unfortunately the device is still unmanaged. it does not even appear to be connecting to the admin server. But here are a few things you need to know. The server which the webconsole is installed has not joined the domain instead it is used for Hyper V which runs the AD server but this one has joined the domain. The network has 3 subnet masks: server, LAN and WIFI. The endpoints had been previously installed with agents. They forgot the credentials so we had to reinstall the server. Now that we have installed the new admin server for Eset, I cannot manage the devices. As stated earlier, I tried to uninstall the old agent and deploy the new agent but even after then the computers do not appear on the webconsole as managed. I have a few questions. 1. How do I make sure that the endpoints appear as managed on the webconsole using the new server( I have the option to install the admin server on the AD server) 2. if it still involves uninstalling the old agent and installing the new one, Can I use the AD to install on all endpoints after uninstalling the agent instead of installing on each. 3. can I use Group policy to automatically install agent to each new endpoint that joins the domain.

First of all please check C:\ProgramData\ESET\RemoteAdministrator\Agent\EraAgentApplicationData\Logs\status.html  and trace.log for errors. You can upload them here, attachments are available to ESET staff only.
