DBC 0 Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 After having to reboot my computer, the ESET Safe Banking & Browser program will not open. It is using Chrome as the browser. From what I can tell, it looks like I have to uninstall ESET Internet Security (v17) and then reinstall. My concern with this is I will lose my bookmarks, open tabs, and overall history. This is several years of info. Where is this information stored locally where I could potentially copy to make a backup? I'm not able to see this information if I open Chrome directly vs. going through the ESET version. I'm currently on Windows 10. The file trying to be opened is "C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET Security\ecmd.exe" /startprotectedbrowser.
Administrators Marcos 5,735 Posted March 13, 2024 Administrators Posted March 13, 2024 The secure browser run via the desktop shortcut "ESET Safe Banking & Browsing" uses a separate browser profile stored in "C:\ProgramData\ESET\ESET Security\OPP". You can back up this folder if you have created bookmarks there. For ordinary browsing we do not recommend using the isolated secured browser but a standard browser secured by ESET Safe Banking & Browsing.
