Endpoint v6 - Locking changes behind a password

In ESET Endpoint v5, I'm able to prevent users from disabling or pausing any module without a password. In ESET Endpoint v6, I can prevent users from getting into advanced settings, but they can still pause and disable features without a password. Is that intended? Or is there another way you can lock down the application? Thanks.

This issue was fixed in the internal version 6.1.2057.0. The fix will be included in the next service build of Endpoint soon.

Actually later I found out it was a different fix related to UAC that was included. The above mentioned "bug" is currently listed with top priority to be included in the next service release asap.

How about Locking the "Remote Administrator Agent" behind a password?

I could nog find how to configure this.

This would be an important feature as well i guess? (at least for us it is)

mentioned this too in this thread. looks like the new V6 is still a bit unfinished for business ;)

Ah oké, better wait for it then, consider this as public beta versions now ;)

Nope, it's not a beta version. The problem is that nobody complained of this as a serious problem during the beta testing and the way it works is intentional so it's not a bug. Of course, we all know that many users have to use admin accounts even though it's not safe and it exposes them more vulnerable to malware attacks. This was finally reconsidered and changed; the change will be included in the next service build that should be available soon (ie. withing a couple of weeks).

We came across this issue during our internal testing phase. We will not be rolling out v6 outside of our testing environment until this security issue is resolved.

We are testing v6 internally since I used v5 at a previous company and everyone loved it. I'm quite disheartened that v6 does not work as v5 does in the way of locking out settings for admin users.

Unfortunately the new company I am working for has their existing product expiring and will need to move forward with another product shortly that provides this functionality if ESET cannot get this fixed. I'm hopeful that ESET fixes this "feature" in the near future as we'd be more than happy to consider and likely chose them as our new AV vendor for over 300 licenses.

We have stated that this is one of the fixes that will be included in the upcoming EP v6 service build scheduled for release soon.
