rpremuz 6
Hi! We have a MS Windows Server 2012 R2 with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) role added. The WSUS uses Windows Internal Database (WID). After ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server v. 4.5.12017.0 has been installed on the server, the ESET FS advanced setup tree in Computer protection > Antivirus and antispyware > Exclusions contains an automatically generated list of paths that are excluded from scanning. The list includes the following paths: C:\WSUS\WSUSContent\UpdateServicesDbFiles\SUSDB.mdf C:\WSUS\WSUSContent\UpdateServicesDbFiles\SUSDB_log.ldf The problem is that those paths are not correct. The following are correct paths for default installation of WID: C:\Windows\WID\Data\SUSDB.mdf C:\Windows\WID\Data\SUSDB_log.ldf BTW, the C:\WSUS\WSUSContent\UpdateServicesDbFiles\ folder does not exist either, while C:\WSUS\WSUSContent\ exists and is used for storing updates. I'd suggest that ESET developers fix this issue so that ESET FS correctly sets automatic exclusions for WSUS on MS Windows Server 2012 R2. -- rpr. Former ESET Employees JeffreyH 6 Posted January 21, 2015 Former ESET Employees Share Posted January 21, 2015 Hello, I would be happy to inform developers of this for further investigation. Before moving forward though, would you be willing to confirm this on a test server with Version 6 of ESET File Security? This version would not be compatible with ESET Remote Administrator version 5 so I would advise installing on a machine that can be reverted or stand alone.Version 6 of File Security can be found here:ESET Endpoint Security (with AV Remover):hxxp://download.eset.com/download/win/ees/v6/AVRemover_ees_nt32_enu.exe (32-bit) hxxp://download.eset.com/download/win/ees/v6/AVRemover_ees_nt64_enu.exe (64-bit) You will also need an Activation Key for version 6. You can convert you ESET Username starting with EAV and password to your activation key using the convert button here: https://ela.eset.com Jeffrey ESET North America
