I'm having an odd problem. It appears that ESET Internet Security is not spam filtering one of several email addresses I use in Outlook. The email address at issue is a Gmail account. Is it possible that somehow that account has been excluded from spam filtering? How would I check that? (My log files seem to show that ESET is filtering spam on my other accounts...just not the Gmail account.)

Thanks!

Please try disabling the junk filter in Outlook:

And that is the EXACT opposite of the advice ESET gave me in an online chat. When I questioning the support tech, he assured me several times that the Outlook junk filtering was part of ESET's spam filter, and that I should enable it.

It's getting to the point of being ridiculous. Only one email address (of several) is not being filtered for spam by ESET, and yet nobody at ESET tech support can provide answers.

The thing is the Outlook junk filter may reclassify messages evaluated by ESET as spam and move them back to the Inbox folder, hence we should rule out the junk filter being the culprit.

Junk filter disabled. Problem persists. The interesting thing is the ESET is filtering spam on all of my accounts except one -- the Gmail account. Why would that be? Has Gmail changed an algorithm or something?

Please carry on as follows:

  1. Enable Email client protection advanced logging under Tools -> Diagnostics in the advanced HIPS setup
  2. Launch MS Outlook
  3. Receive a spam email that is not recognized as spam by ESET
  4. Stop logging
  5. Collect logs with ESET Log Collector and upload the generated archive here. Provide also the spam email in the msg or email format.

I'd also recommend raising a support ticket and providing the above stuff when asked.
