Most Valued Members ewong 6 Posted October 27 Most Valued Members Share Posted October 27 Hi, In the past, (and if I recall correctly) I went to the EBA site and selected the license and when I clicked on 'create offline license', the next screen would have a field that would allow me to select (iirc) "locale cache". I don't see this anymore (or perhaps it's been moved elsewhere?). Can someone clarify how I can create an offline Mirror license? Thanks Edmund
Administrators Marcos 4,935 Posted October 27 Administrators Share Posted October 27 Do you have the appropriate setting enabled in the EBA setup?

Yes I do. In the list of offline license options, I have the Endpoint and Server security items; but no locale cache. I've used two different browsers just in case one of them is not seeing that local cache option; but both don't show that. This is what I see: Edmund Edited October 27 by ewong
Administrators Solution Marcos 4,935 Posted October 27 Administrators Solution Share Posted October 27 Please refer to https://help.eset.com/protect_install/10.1/en-US/mirror_tool_windows.html You must have a valid Offline license file that includes the Username and Password. When generating a license file, be sure to select the check box next to Include Username and Password. Also, you must type a license Name. An offline license file is needed for the activation of the Mirror Tool and generation of the update mirror.

Hi Marcos, That I understand, but what I'm confused about is that the "local cache" option is missing. IIRC, I needed to select "local cache" option and then check the "Include Username and Password" checkbox. Right now, I'm stuck since none of the current options are applicable since this license is for the mirror tool and not the Endpoint/Server security programs. Thanks Edmund PS: As I re-read that and looked at the screenshots, I'm wondering if I'm confused with this because I expected a 'local cache' option(which I believe was an option some time ago); but am I correct in understanding that it *doesn't* matter what Product option I select, just as long as I have a valid offline license, I can use that offline license (even though it isn't specific to "local cache"? Also the "Units Count" is only 1? Edited October 27 by ewong
Administrators Marcos 4,935 Posted October 27 Administrators Share Posted October 27 You are probably referring to an option that pertained to ESET Shared Local Cache product which has been already discontinued and thus the option has been removed from EBA as well. Ah, I think that was it. So all this time I had the misunderstanding that the ESET Shared Local cache offline license *was* for the Mirror repo when all this time I could've just simply used 1 Endpoint license for the mirror system? Most Valued Members ewong 6 Posted October 27 Author Most Valued Members Share Posted October 27 I basically just chose the Endpoint option, checked the include Username/Password checkbox, and selected 1 unit, and then generated the offline license. Then I uploaded that to the mirror and ran the mirrortool program. So far, it hasn't complained about license issues, so i guess I'm good now. Thanks Marcos.
