Antimalware Service Executable - Still Runs After Nod32 Install

Recommended Posts

The Antimalware Service Executable (WinDefend service) continues running even after installing Nod32.

I attempted to disable it using the Group Policy option 'Turn off Windows Defender Antivirus,' but it remains active.

When I attempt to terminate the service, I encounter an error message: 'Permission denied.'"

Why this service is active?

Windows 11 PRO - 22H2 (Build 22621.2283)

Select Manage Providers option in Virus & threat providers section of Windows Security Center to verify Microsoft Defender is actually turned on;
