ESET Drivers detections

Recommended Posts

Hello,

This morning, after installing ESET Endpoint Security update (10.1.2050), then after the reboot Eset detects 3 drivers as unsafe :

Quote

first detection 05/09/2023 09:07:54
file;C:\Windows\system32\drivers\AsIO2.sys;Win64/Asus.E
potentially dangerous application; cleaned by removal (after next reboot)
An event occurred while the application attempted to access the file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Dropbox\Client\Dropbox.exe (6D82DF9F4F03437E599C9E6016BF3A63BBB50188).;AA2EA973BB248B18973E57339307CFB8D309F687;0 2/11/2020 10:11 :28

First detection 05/09/2023 09:07:55
file;C:\Windows\system32\drivers\ene.sys;Win64/WinIO.D
potentially dangerous application; cleaned by removal (after next reboot)

First detection 05/09/2023 09:08:09
file;C:\Windows\system32\drivers\GLCKIO2.sys;Win64/Asus.F
potentially dangerous application; cleaned by removal (after next reboot)
An event occurred while the application attempted to access the file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Dropbox\Client\Dropbox.exe (6D82DF9F4F03437E599C9E6016BF3A63BBB50188).;83B5E60943A92050FCCB8ACEF7AA464C8F81D38E;02 /11/2020 10:13 :16

And, during a scan with MBAM (no detections from MBAM), ESET detects 2 others drivers :

Quote

C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\ENE\IO\ENE.SYS: Win64/WinIO.D potentially dangerous application
C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\ASUS\GLCKIO2\GLCKIO2.SYS: Win64/Asus.F potentially dangerous application

Do you have any idea if these detections are valid or if they are false positives? These appear to be drivers to turn on the RAM sticks on the motherboard and other communication drivers with the motherboard.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards.

The detections are correct. They all are vulnerable drivers. Please update the software that the drivers belong to.

Thanks for your answer.

So this does not mean that I am infected but that these drivers present on my computer are vulnerable ? Right ?

Why didn't ESET detect them before? Because they have been there since my computer was installed in 2020.....

Correct.

It could be that you either didn't have detection of potentially unsafe applications enabled or the drivers were not access before.
