Google Chrome Apps Screen black background with small icons

Hello, Starting a couple months ago my Google Chrome apps screen shows a black background with small round icons.  The window seems to be in a protected state.  I have tried everything I can think of including disabling the protected banking, etc.  Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix?  I removed and re-added Chrome.  Same thing
