rugk 397
I just had a funny, but quite nice idea. It's as simple as curt it is. Why not make a short link with the domain es.et? .et is the top-level-domain of Ethiopia, so it is possible. Wouldn't it be great to make a link to hxxp://es.et/d0japls72 which redirects to hxxp://www.eset.com/int/home/products/smart-security/ for example? You could also use it in your Twitter channels (@ESET, @ESETNA, @esetglobal) You could e.g. use Bitly to do it without having to set up your own URL shortener. They call it Branded Short Domain. ESET Moderators Aryeh Goretsky 389 Posted December 3, 2014 ESET Moderators Share Posted December 3, 2014 Hello, We actually did look into this a while ago, but it turns out you cannot register a top-level .ET ccTLD. We could register a second-level domain like ES.BIZ.ET, ES.COM.ET, ES.NET.ET, ES.ORG.ET and so forth, but it would not have the same impact/usefulness for a URL shortening service. rugk 397
What a pitty! Actually it also seems that it is taken by someone (respectively an American company?). And you can't buy the domain from the person/company who is owning it actually? Edited December 3, 2014 by rugk

rugk 397
Very sad that you cannot do this... ... unless you open a distribution in Ethiopia, I assume.
