offbyone 10
Just downloaded Apache HTTP Proxy from ESET website to update our installation and wonder why apache did not start any longer. By tracking down the problem I found the message that a module could not be loaded and then I saw that all modules in the module folder changed from *.dll to *.so. Is this correct that the new download includes all modules in *.so (Linux) format and not *.dll (Windows) format.
santoso 6
I recommend that you migrate to ESET Bridge. IggyPop
ESET Staff IggyPop 19 Posted June 20 ESET Staff Share Posted June 20 Hey @offbyone, since version of EP10 and later we have introduced the ESET Bridge as mentioned per @santoso, I would strongly recommend you start using this one as this is the replacement for Apache Proxy. There will be a release pretty soon, where we will bring additional functionalities. Hope it helps! Ingemar Peter Randziak
Solution offbyone 10 Posted June 20 Author Solution Share Posted June 20 (edited) 3 hours ago, IggyPop said: since version of EP10 and later we have introduced the ESET Bridge as mentioned per @santoso, That will maybe be interesting in the long term as we have to make intensive tests to check that everything works. For the initial question I found the solution myself. Indeed the naming of the modules have changed between the versions of the proxy. As we had a custom settings file we had to adjust the naming accordingly and now everything works as it should. Edited June 20 by offbyone

Ingemar As I understand ESET Bridge is only useful if you have a homogeneous environment with Endpoint Security 10+, is that correct? So if I have some Endpoints with version 9, I cannot use Bridge? offbyone

So if I have some Endpoints with version 9, I cannot use Bridge? Yes, you are correct the Bridge is compatible with Endpoint later than version 10. ESET Moderators Peter Randziak 1,016 Posted June 22 ESET Moderators Share Posted June 22 Hello @thae, some features, like the "HTTPS traffic caching for ESET security products" are supported on the listed products / versions only, but the ESET Bridge can be used as a proxy 1. to cache the standard http traffic and 2. to be used as gateway in a network without direct internet access... TomTomTom 2
Hi, what can I do if I have Mac-Computers in my network? Do I have to wait until there is also a Version 10 in the ESET Product available? When will this be ready to use? Thanks Tom
ESET Moderators Peter Randziak 1,016 Posted June 29 ESET Moderators Share Posted June 29 Hello @TomTomTom, the ESET Bridge can be used as standard caching / forwarding proxy so the http traffic can be cached, the https will be forwarded. Not sure what is your primary motivation to use it, but it should work fine with the products without full support for it. Peter
