offbyone 10 Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 Just downloaded Apache HTTP Proxy from ESET website to update our installation and wonder why apache did not start any longer. By tracking down the problem I found the message that a module could not be loaded and then I saw that all modules in the module folder changed from *.dll to *.so. Is this correct that the new download includes all modules in *.so (Linux) format and not *.dll (Windows) format.
santoso 7 Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 I recommend that you migrate to ESET Bridge. IggyPop 1
ESET Staff IggyPop 22 Posted June 20, 2023 ESET Staff Posted June 20, 2023 Hey @offbyone, since version of EP10 and later we have introduced the ESET Bridge as mentioned per @santoso, I would strongly recommend you start using this one as this is the replacement for Apache Proxy. There will be a release pretty soon, where we will bring additional functionalities. Hope it helps! Ingemar Peter Randziak 1

For the initial question I found the solution myself. Indeed the naming of the modules have changed between the versions of the proxy. As we had a custom settings file we had to adjust the naming accordingly and now everything works as it should. Edited June 20, 2023 by offbyone

Ingemar As I understand ESET Bridge is only useful if you have a homogeneous environment with Endpoint Security 10+, is that correct? So if I have some Endpoints with version 9, I cannot use Bridge? offbyone 1

ESET Moderators Peter Randziak 1,181 Posted June 22, 2023 ESET Moderators Posted June 22, 2023 Hello @thae, some features, like the "HTTPS traffic caching for ESET security products" are supported on the listed products / versions only, but the ESET Bridge can be used as a proxy 1. to cache the standard http traffic and 2. to be used as gateway in a network without direct internet access... TomTomTom 2 Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 Hi, what can I do if I have Mac-Computers in my network? Do I have to wait until there is also a Version 10 in the ESET Product available? When will this be ready to use? Thanks Tom
ESET Moderators Peter Randziak 1,181 Posted June 29, 2023 ESET Moderators Posted June 29, 2023 Hello @TomTomTom, the ESET Bridge can be used as standard caching / forwarding proxy so the http traffic can be cached, the https will be forwarded. Not sure what is your primary motivation to use it, but it should work fine with the products without full support for it. Peter
