loki_01 0 Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Hello, I recently removed the WIFI/Bluetooth card from my Lenovo laptop. But there is still a WIFI router on downstairs and my Samsung Galaxy is usually with me. Could hackers tether or create a hotspot or something through them to get access to my laptop. I'm running Windows 10. Sorry I'm not a tech person. Thanks
thae 14 Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 If your Laptop is never connected to anything, be it WIFI/LAN, or another device like your phone, there is no way it could get compromised. Given that only you have physical access to it. If your phone or a USB storage device gets connected to it, sure, it could be possible. Read up on Stuxnet. But I wouldn't even think about such a scenario, I wouldn't be a possible target of such a highly sophisticated attacker.
