Good day,

I would like to ask is ITDT is effective against malware and provide real benefit for ESET behavioral protection or it's just marketing?

Refer to this recent AV lab test that was addressed just to this question: https://selabs.uk/reports/enterprise-advanced-security-ransomware-intel-threat-detection-technology-2023-02/ .

The important point to note in this test is the disparity in detection rates between Intel and AMD processor.

I'd say that it's rather unlikely to come across a threat detected by ITDT since new ransomware variants are typically already detected by other protection layers. However, it may be useful when it comes to targeted attacks.

That's the point is it not? The ransomware attacks publicized on an ever increasing basis are targeted attacks against high valued commercial/government concerns.

As far as ransomware attacks against individuals and unless your a high value target, being subjected to a ransomware attack would be a rare occurrence and more of a fluke event than intentional. However this is not to imply that individuals do not get infected by ransomware. It does happen.
