KVC 1 Posted May 22 Share Posted May 22 Hello, We have installed ESET Server Security version 9.0.12017.0 in Windows 2008 R2 server and configured it with mirror setup for other computers to update from it. We also have some legacy Windows 2003 servers in our environment with ESET Server Security version 6.5.12018.0 installed and configured to update from the configured central server (in Win2K8 as mentioned above). We have noticed update issues with Windows 2003 servers only from past 1-2 weeks. While trying to update, it shows as Update progress: 3/11 and then abruptly fails with error: “Virus signature database update ended with an error. Undocumented serious error (0x1106)” We tried to clear the update cache and remove proxy settings but it gives same error. When we try to change the update server settings to Choose Automatically, it asked to active the product again. When we enter the activation key it does activate but on the update screen, it still keeps asking for activating the product. When we change the update server settings again from Auto to selected server, it does not ask for activation but does not update. All other Servers, with Windows server 2008 and Windows 8 and 10 computers are updating without any issues. Please guide to resolve this issue. Administrators Solution Marcos 4,704 Posted May 22 Administrators Solution Share Posted May 22 If you had been using ESET on Windows Server 2003 at the time when the ESET security product supporting the said OS reached EOL, you should be eligible for paid extended support that would enable you to update the engine and a couple of other essential modules until Dec 2024. As said we were able to update ESET on Windows server 2003 and it stopped since past 1-2 weeks only. Last year, we did the renewal of the ESET license for the full quantity just like we do every year. Is there anything required to specifically request renewal for extended support program ? KVC 1 Posted May 23 Author Share Posted May 23 Hello Marcos, We have requested the local ESET vendor with whom we have done the renewal for information about the paid extended support program. Further i can see that the version 6.5.12018.0 (which is latest installed in our Windows Server 2003) displays limited support ending on December 2022 (screenshot attached) Can i request you to share link to ensure that it is supported up to Dec 2024 with paid extended support program.
