A couple of questions on the beta 7

First, I see this on just about every download site on the net. Is it reasonablly safe to install on my daily machine, or should I keep it to a virtual machine? Also, if so, can I assume I can activate it with my regular license?

Hello,

Beta versions are precursors of final products intended for testing purposes. We do not recommend that you run beta versions on production systems that contain important data.

With regard to activation, beta downloads are free of charge (you do not need your ESET-issued Username and Password to activate and use them).

Hello xxJackxx, nice to see you here =))

Yes you can use your existing/regular license, username/password if you will, no problem at all,but i can see why? Regarding your first question, then I always test Beta software in a real software environment, meaning no VMware used. There was a small hiccup regarding Windows 8, but it was corrected fast. In Windows 7 (and 8), I have only seen a small problem with Roboform, beside that, beta 7 seems very stable.I went to a Honey pot, to see how stable it were regarding struggling with some malware , website blocking and so on, and it were steady as a rock.

Thanks for the replies. It's probably more realistic testing to run it on a real machine and I would backup first, but I am still undecided on whether to try. Seems fine in VMWare. I've had final versions of security suites destroy my Windows installation so anything comes with some risk.
