JLoGukA 0
I have a machine with 8gb ddr4 ram, i5-9300H cpu and gtx 1070 with 144hz monitor. When I dragging antivirus' window anywhere it feels like 15 fps instead of 144. I know that that's not game software, that's why just out of interest. Administrators Marcos 4,935 Posted April 19 Administrators Share Posted April 19 I would check if your graphic card drivers allow for disabling hardware acceleration and if it's enabled. I for one haven't noticed any such issues and even moving the gui in a virtual machine when connected through a remote desktop is fluent. Also haven't seen anybody else here complaining about stuttered window movement.
semtexxl 0
He is not alone and eset seems to ignore this problem. I have exactly the same issue on my main PC: Ryzen 5900X, RTX4090 on Win 10x64 22H2 all latest updates and latest drivers on LG C2 Oled with G-Sync and VRR enabled in 4k . This is the ONLY program having such problems. The weird thing is my old laptop with GeForce GT730M is having exactly the same issue which started a few eset updates back. Reinstalling the program won't help. Win updates won't help. Reverting back or reinstalling graphics driver won't help. There is clearly something wrong with eset hw acceleration handling. Administrators Marcos 4,935 Posted June 29 Administrators Share Posted June 29 The same UI engine is leveraged by several other AVs as well as other applications. Do you have the latest version 16.1.14 installed? Does the same happen if you run SysInspector or you can move its window fluently?
semtexxl 0
Thanks very much for the swift reply. Yes, I am using the latest version on both machines. As I said it started a few versions back. To your second question: Yes, it does happen the same way even in SysInspector window while dragging in comparison to any other application. It is really unusual problem I have never encountered before....My last chance is to pinpoint which version exactly started with this supposed bug first. semtexxl 0
Ok after trying an older version namely 15.12.17.0 (going straight to version 15 instead of slightly older16th version to save time with testing) all I can report is the smoothness is back! At least on laptop with GT730M graphics. Shame I am not home right now to test my main PC but I would bet the results will be pretty much the same. Nothing else was done besides uninstalling latest 16.1.14.0 then installing the version mentioned above and all the problems are gone. Of course this is not a viable long-term solution for security and I was done strictly to show there is something wrong with hw acceleration of the ui in the latest version for some users. Now applying update from 15 to 16 and the lags/stutter are back.
semtexxl 0
Still the same even after 16.2.11.0 update. I would say even more laggy sadly.
Administrators Marcos 4,935 Posted July 24 Administrators Share Posted July 24 I assume this will need to be consulted with the provider of the UI engine. The issue is tracked so developers will look into it sooner or later.
semtexxl 0
Sorry for the bump but the new version still posseses the same problem. I really hope for the fix in some of the future updates. Truly bizarre problem.

Administrators Marcos 4,935 Posted October 3 Administrators Share Posted October 3 The issue is tracked, however, at this point we can't tell if we could do something about it, especially if it's related to the 3rd party web engine that ESET GUI runs on.
