AdamC 0 Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 (edited) Hi There, Looking for a solution for the title problem. I feel I have tried all options that are available online. The Updfiles that I have are larger than the allowable 100MB, so I will put half in here an the rest in a reply to this post Thanks,Updfiles_1.zip Adam. Edited February 16, 2023 by AdamC

Administrators Marcos 5,453 Posted February 17, 2023 Administrators Posted February 17, 2023 Please carry on as follows: Enable advanced logging under Help and support -> Technical support Run update to reproduce the issue Stop logging Collect logs with ESET Log Collector and upload the generated archive here.
Administrators Marcos 5,453 Posted February 18, 2023 Administrators Posted February 18, 2023 Unfortunately I didn't realize that you have ESET Antivirus installed which doesn't contain the network protection module and thus network communication could not be logged. Please create a pcap log with Wireshark during an update attempt or temporarily install and activate a trial version of ESET Smart Security Premium or ESET Internet Security which can generate pcap logs with network communication captured.
AdamC 0 Posted February 28, 2023 Author Posted February 28, 2023 I am assuming you just need the wifi pcap file? pcap230228.zip
Administrators Marcos 5,453 Posted February 28, 2023 Administrators Posted February 28, 2023 Probably a proxy is stripping out parts of the engine file. Yours is 1689 kB in size (right) while the actual file was 14 MB (left). The data from the beginning up to offset 0x00C324D2 is missing:
AdamC 0 Posted March 9, 2023 Author Posted March 9, 2023 I am not sure what I am supposed to do now? do you have an idea? I just run straight through from wifi to my router. Maybe I should just go to another provider of virus scanning.
Administrators Marcos 5,453 Posted March 9, 2023 Administrators Posted March 9, 2023 I stand corrected. The missing part of the file was caused by the fact that it had already been downloaded and the updater resumed downloading the rest of the file. We have found out that you have HP Sure Sense installed which is known to tamper with ESET update files. If possible, please uninstall it. Peter Randziak 1
