ESA standalone mode user management

Hey, 

We are currently trying to test Eset ESA (for 2FA VPN) and we ran into a question/issue and we cant find an answer to it even in partner portal or documentation. 

 

VPN is configured as RADIUS client and all of the authentication will be done by ESA.

It is installed in Standalone mode. (No AD) 

We created user for 2fa within ESA console. 

 

However, this is the part that is not clear, if we are running in standalone mode, what sources can be used for user account for the "first factor".  Can we use local users of the win machine for testing purposes ? Do we need different user database ?
