Are you attempting to activate a trial version? I've tried it now and it worked like a charm.

Please enable advanced logging under Help and support -> Technical support and try activation again. If fails, disable logging, collect logs with ESET Log Collector and upload the generated archive here.

This probably means you are trying to activate a license that is meant to be sold and used in another country/region. Check my reply here: 

You will need to figure out where the reseller you bought the license from is and select that region when registering the license or if you can get a refund and buy it directly from the official ESET website of your region.
