Renewed and upgraded my set licence 3 weeks in advance but still running the existing before renewal?

Is this because I've renewed it early & the new won't kick in until the existing expires?

Your license with PLID 3AC-N3T-N4C expires on January 20, 2024 after renewal. Renewals are smooth as the license key doesn't change.
