angelo_lopes 0
Hi When downloading a quote PDF file, I receive a "Failed - Failed to scan for viruses" message. I found that changing HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Attachments\ScanWithAntiVirus value from 3 to 1, I can download. If I put the value back to 3, it fails again. Can anyone please tell me if changing this value could affect the functioning of ESET Internet Security that I have installed? Or if I can delete or rename this ScanWithAntiVirus key which may only be linked to Windows Security? Thank you

According the article the default policy is Off (1) or the key doesn't exist. I just checked the registry key on my Win 10 22H2 installation with ESSP ver. 16 installed. The registry key doesn't exist. In fact, the Attachments sub-key doesn't exist. I therefore conclude that something else on your Win installation created these registry keys and set ScanWithAntiVirus to a value to 3. Perhaps Outlook?
