Eset Smart Security disconnects VPN upon running speed test/file download

Hi. I installed Eset Smart Security. I noticed it does disconnect my VPN upon running speed test at speedtest.net or download test file from https://speed.hetzner.de/

When speed is close to 100Mbps, then it disconnects VPN.

I tried to disable Firewall, but it did happen again.

What should I do? Thank you very much.

Can you confirm it is eset? Does the issue occur if you temporary remove Eset?

I had Kaspersky Internet Security installed, before I install Eset Smart Security V16. No such thing happened with Kaspersky.

I found similar topic the user having smilar issue:

What settings in Eset V16 I must change?

In Network protection/Zones?

I am very much happy now. With the help and screenshots in the post above, I could find the problem and now running speed test and getting speeds above 100 doesn't make a disconnection from VPN.

Update: The problem happened again after 15min.

I did these steps that made the disconnection go away:

Thid disable the:

Why the problem disappeared for 15 min, and then started back again?

Update: This does not happened or happen currently with Kaspersky Internet Security and also Bitdefender Total Security.

Since it appears the issue was due to constant SSDP network discovery traffic, disable Win SSDP service and see if that resolves the issue.

What do you have your network setting set to e.g. home or public. I know when set as public things can get blocked a lot

I disabled the SSDP service. It did happen again. I found similar topic mentioned in link below, but I have no clue what steps to take now.

 Disabled:

I did unblock these:

moved these in Trusted:

Any idea what to do now?

Why VPN only gets disconnected when download speeds gets higher? If not downloading, all is ok.

I did pause Firewall, but again it disconnects. Would inspecting Log files help someone as ESET to determine my issue, please?

You must first narrow it down. If pausing the firewall didn't make any difference, does disabling it in the advanced setup do? Does temporarily changing the product to ESET NOD32 Antivirus make a difference? If not, what about temporarily uninstalling ESET completely and keeping Defender enabled?

Disabling Firewall from the Advanced Settings also did not help. I did revert the app to the Nod32 few days ago, but it did not help. I will try again now.

After I uninstalled Nod32, I did not test with Defender. I did install Kaspersky Internet Security and did test with it, and it was ok. I also tested with Bitdefender Total Security but did not happen with it as well.

Let me again, install Nod32 and report back here.

I now am on the Nod32 V16. Tested several times and all is ok. No disconnection from VPN happened after download speed got higher with running speedtest or with file download.

What should I do next? Thanks a lot @Marcos

Keep v16 then. It's the latest version although not yet released globally (will be very soon).

You mean to keep Nord32 V16 and don't get back to ESET Smart Security premium 16 yet?

This happened with ESET Smart Security premium v15 as well.

If the issue returns after changing the product back to ESSP v16, please open a support ticket for investigation. I'd expect network slowdown with 10Gb NIC but not with a 100 Mb one.

Ok, but slowdown is not my case. I have VPN getting disconnected when running speedtest or file download upon when speeds get higher.

I could find out that it was the DriverEasy software, that I used after clean installation of Windows to update all the drivers, caused the problem.

Maybe it did download excess drivers and unnecessary ones.

I did clean install of Windows two times and tested few times, and thus finally could determine it was DriverEasy making the problem.
