DreamAlive 1
Hello everyone, Trying out Internet Security, Windows 10. Firewall in Policy-based mode, the Windows Firewall has been automatically turned off. I've added a few rules to ESET (haven't touched the built-in ones) but noticing that several programs without a rule connect normally. Others programs are being blocked. I thought this mode blocks everything without a rule? Firefox for example connects normally. Rules that allow these programs are still present in the Windows Firewall, but: a) Switching them to Disabled/Blocked changes nothing b) Windows Firewall is disabled and should be ignored anyway? Solution DreamAlive 1 Posted October 19, 2022 Author Solution Share Posted October 19, 2022 My fault! In one of my rules the Application path was empty, so that rule caused the problem. At least I got reminded one needs to be very careful and precise. 😳 peteyt
