hqsec 12 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I searched this forum and web but couldn't find an answer to my question. I would like to know if ESET's products are compatible and if they are using Windows 8 ELAM (Early-Launch Anti Malware)? I would also like to know if anybody configured ELAM and what was their experience? Thanks.

There are a few things I am waiting to hear back on at which point I will follow up with the answer here. Thank you for your patience, hqsec!
hqsec 12 Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 Thank you Javier. I'm not in a hurry and I'll wait till you get the answers.
rugk 397 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Very good question! If it isn't supported yet (as I assume because I didn't saw any setting or information about it in the ESET products) it would be a great suggestion. More about ELAM you can read here: Feature: Early launch antimalware Securing the Windows 8 Boot Process
rugk 397 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 @hqsec I have added your question/idea/suggestion/whatever to my profile, because I really like it. Have a nice day!
hqsec 12 Posted October 24, 2014 Author Posted October 24, 2014 Thanks @rugk. You also have a nice day. And weekend
hqsec 12 Posted October 24, 2014 Author Posted October 24, 2014 Until we get official response from developer I've made some tests and posted results here: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/elam-early-launch-antimalware-and-avs-supporting-it.369386/#post-2421230
Administrators Solution Marcos 5,468 Posted October 24, 2014 Administrators Solution Posted October 24, 2014 We don't plan to use an ELAM driver any time soon. Has anyone proved that ESET wouldn't be able to deal with malware that a product with a MBAM driver could?

Has anyone proved that ESET wouldn't be able to deal with malware that a product with a MBAM driver could? Thank you for your response Marcos. I just wanted to know if ESET is using this new mechanism that is available in Windows 8. You've answered my original question. I don't question ESET's ability to deal with malware.
