agaufres 0
Hello, Since a few days, I have a problem with my ERA virtual appliance. It was working great since years, but I guess since the last update mysql is down and won't start. I'm logged into the webmin, Servers -> MySQL Database Server - MySQL version 5.6.50 MySQL error message The full MySQL error message was : connect to server at 'localhost' failed error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)' Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' exists! If I click on the button 'Start mysql server' Failed to start database : Redirecting to /bin/systemctl start mariadb.service Failed to start mariadb.service: Unit not found. I have no idea what to do, it was working fine since years. When I run the ESET PROTECT diagnostic tool, it gives this message ERROR executing task ActionConfiguration, error: [unixODBC][MySQL][ODBC 8.0(w) Driver]Can't connect to MySQL server on '127.0.0.1' (111) (2003) The login page is up but when I start to connect it gives this message loginConnectionStateNotConnected What can I do ? Administrators Marcos 5,273 Posted August 8, 2022 Administrators Share Posted August 8, 2022 What version of the ODBC driver you have installed? According to https://help.eset.com/protect_install/91/en-US/database_requirements.html, v8.0.16 and 8.0.17 are supported. Please open a support ticket if the ODBC driver version is correct. agaufres 0
I didn't install ODBC, the system came as a virtual machine. The fact that Mysql can't start might be related to the version of ODBC ?ODBC 8.0(w) Driver]Can't connect to MySQL server Obviously if the SQL server is down, ODBC can't connect. Mysql is down and won't start. All the errors are in my first post. Best regards Edited August 8, 2022 by agaufres
Administrators Marcos 5,273 Posted August 8, 2022 Administrators Share Posted August 8, 2022 Please check /var/log/eset/RemoteAdministrator/Server/trace.log for possible errors. I'd recommend opening a support ticket for assistance with further troubleshooting.
