The V7 icon is so ugly..

Recommended Posts

There is no point as it will not look like it does in the flesh.

You had enough testers telling you it was ugly and no idea why other who are happy with it feel the need to post in here, they are happy so good for them but that is the done thing here.

Compared to all other icons in the Notification Area it looks like it was drawn in MsPaint, the edge are messy.

Its not a deal breaker (again) but listen to your tester next time and choice is good BTW.

MS took that away and look at them now.

No doubt one of the 2 little trolls will post for pure sake of it but they are on ignore.

The windows build bug is a known issue on the windows side, ESET is researching.

The blue icon usually is an informative notification letting you know you need windows updates.

You can go into the setup-tree and turn off those WU notifications if you want. At least to see if the blue "i" goes away.

I use windows 8.1 x64 bit and dont have this issue.

Have you ever hidden any updates ? You may have an update that is hidden or not coming through.

Try stopping and restarting the windows update service and the security center service.

Does it go away after a computer restart ?

This is what I meant, try this to see if the "i" goes away:  hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN3192&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1395357705846

Yes, you can leave WU on Auto. These settings are not connected to how WU checks for updates :)

Well you could install a 30day trial if you want to continue to test the product or even better buy a license and stay happy forever.  :D

Hello,

This is just my opinion, but the current icon, made more "serious".

The Eset customer does not consist exclusively of "gamers", Of course, we do not judge the quality of a product's interface, but it gives an idea of his involvement in the "finishing".

I very much regret it :)

Hello Mr Goretsky :)

Yes, I know, I'm one of the few "fanatic" to have read the entire manual ^^.

It was just a bit of nostalgia! ;)

I wish you a pleasant day.

Although my subscription and passion for ESET started on version 4, i enjoyed your nostalgia. +1 Very nice.

I don't think there is enough ESET representation in that old icon though.

Version 7, definitely.

I do miss the eye or radar icon though, neither of which change or represent the software functionality though, which is what is important to me.

I feel that GUI objects similar to icons and banners, should be at ESET's full discretion, they should make it look exactly as they would want it to look or what makes them proud !

We get our two cents in with features, changes, options, additions, etc etc.

:)

Hello,

Iam agree with that: "neither of which change or represent the software functionality though, which is what is important to me."

In my opinion, the interface of the product has reached a certain "maturity", I do not think it is important to retouched.

Regards,

Vigen.
