Win7 Pro 64bit ENG ESS 7.0.104.0 (so far it seems only beta is affected) Update first stuck on 8702 for at least 1 hour (very likely even more...). Restarted Windows. ESS showed 8703. After manually "Update now" - stuck again. Guest kmb101
Virus database update (last successful update August 19, 2013 1:31:50 p.m.) does not terminate. Yeah, I've been stuck with this for the last ~3 hours. The virus signature update completes and then the GUI shows Application Update -> Update Progress 0kb / 0 kb. The only way to stop it is to log off or reboot, though that will only last until ESS next checks for updates. I am having the same problem for the last 2 days... Guest Wayne
I am seeing this as well Ditto, 2 days now, endless application update. Uninstalled previous version, downloaded latest beta, signature updates fine, components
Guest Wayne
Sorted it to a certain degree -- go into setup>Enter Advanced Setup> Under update/Settings- on the right " Advanced update setup> select Never update program components. This will stop the endless application update, BUT if you manually check Product update it will run through and work.

ESET Moderators Peter Randziak 1,128 Posted August 26, 2013 ESET Moderators Share Posted August 26, 2013 Hello MP, does turning off of Advanced memory scanner make any difference with ESS 7.0.104?
.MP. 0
alo Peter, had testing with various setting... i think this version of ESET7 had some learning capability... now with/without AMS (Advanced memory Scanner), my performance is back... just not like yesterday when ESET7 still learning (probably) and give me low performance... still continue testing, sorry for my english. thanks. ESET Moderators Peter Randziak 1,128 Posted August 27, 2013 ESET Moderators Share Posted August 27, 2013 Hello MP, yes there are various mechanisms to improve performance over time like Smart optimization and Cloud enhanced whitelisting. I remember that there were some issues with performance during compiling, exclusions on compiler's work folder should resolve it.

sujith_16 2
I would love to see the "eye" icon changed.Frankly,it doesnt look nice. The old ones looked better. And i would like eset not to bug too much about license expiration.
SweX 871
I would love to see the "eye" icon changed.Frankly,it doesnt look nice. The old ones looked better. There is no "eye" icon anymore in V7 as far as I can see The old "eye" is now an "e" icon, and I have actually started to like the new "e" icon
gijs007 0
I'd like to see a sandbox function as well and the ability to make eset compatible with windows firewall rules. For example some applications automatically make an exclusion for the windows firewall, but eset doesn't read this exclusion/allow list out so I have to manually allow programs in eset... I need this for some server hosting applications which automatically add and remove their .exe frequintly. I'd also like an option to tune the IDS, on high load workstations we have to turn some of them off because it blocks genuine traffic. .MP. 0
again with AMS on, i have several lag issue with mmorpg online gaming, such as click-to-move, any click/command. without it, i'm doing fine. @gijs007 many virus/malware that i've been encountered can add exception to windows firewall, eset firewall help me a lot with this... i think eset firewall is intended to replace windows firewall, with much better security/options. maybe learning mode can help you? sorry for english. thanks.
