rotaru 10
...but on download was the normal NOD 32 antivirus. Also on "My ESET" the license is for "ESET NOD 32 ANTIVIRUS" So, why the gimmick with "Gamer Edition"??????
Administrators Marcos 5,255 Posted May 25, 2022 Administrators Share Posted May 25, 2022 ESET offers the following products for home users: 1, ESET NOD32 Antivirus 2, ESET Internet Security 3, ESET Smart Security Premium. If a distributor adds a special label on boxes, it could be because of an extra bonus bundled. For explanation it is necessary to contact your local ESET distributor. If you have paid a premium price for the extra Gaming function you need to take this up with BestBuy. Edited May 25, 2022 by MrWrighty
itman 1,746
I was just on the Best Buy U.S. web site: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage.jsp?st=eset&_dyncharset=UTF-8&_dynSessConf=&id=pcat17071&type=page&sc=Global&cp=1&nrp=&sp=&qp=&list=n&af=true&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960&keys=keys . There is no reference to a NOD32 Gamer Edition. This must be related to some marketing gimmick created between Eset N.A. and Best Buy Canada. However, www.newegg.com is indeed selling a NOD32 Gamer Edition: https://www.newegg.com/eset-nod32-gamer-edition/p/N82E16832114557 . Also, the price is not listed and must be specifically requested. I beleive this "NOD32 Gamer Edition" issue was posted about a while back in the forum. Appears newegg.com bought the lot of these licenses and are now selling them for whatever they can get. Cannot believe that ESET would do that because there is no additional benefit, it is one and the same product. Interestingly if you search the model number EAVHGE-N1-1-1-RBXEFL Ingram Micros Canada are also selling this version along with canadacomputers.com and newegg.ca. Very strange. So, I do not get it: 1. If in fact is just NOD32 , what "special release" are we talking about??? 2.If it is a known fact at the office level , why not acknowledged by Marcos (Administrator) ???? It is a product (box) released by ESET and not "a special label on boxes" Fact remains, though, it is nothing else than a gimmick......
TheStill 29
It's the marketing department's job to increase sales of whatever they are selling. I'm assuming they have done some research and discovered that a lot of people are not aware of the game mode in ESET. So they are just emphasizing this feature more clearly in the hope that it attracts people less knowledgeable about anti virus.
