hweimer 0 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 I installed a 30 day trial eset on my brand new hp pavilion desktop. Since I did, it has slowed to nearly a halt. I did not realize desktop came with MacAfee--perhaps the two programs are conflicting? I just wish to uninstall Eset at this time but have not been permitted to. Any ideas how this could be accomplished?
ESET Moderators Aryeh Goretsky 394 Posted September 13, 2014 ESET Moderators Posted September 13, 2014 Hello, As you determined, ESET's software and McAfee's should not be installed at the same time lest conflicts occur. Try going to Programs and Features (filename: APPWIZ.CPL) and uninstalling ESET Smart Security from there. At that point, you can uninstall the trial version of McAfee from the HP Pavilion desktop following McAfee's instructions. Once that is done, you can safely install ESET Smart Security without having a conflict. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
wasnapper 0 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I went into control panel, uninstall programmes, highlighted the Eset program, clicked on change, and followed the prompts. That worked.
Administrators Marcos 5,451 Posted October 2, 2014 Administrators Posted October 2, 2014 Still I'd recommend trying out ESET some time as it should provide better protection with lower system footprint than most competitive AV products.
rugk 397 Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 The TS still seems to haven't tried it out. If you have and it worked, @hweimer, then please test whether the slow-down gone away.
