Threat fou found: dllhost.exe(2860)

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm afraid I caught a virus on skype. One of my otherwise trusted contacts sent me a PIF file. Unfortunately I opened this too quickly.

My PC is noticeably slower now. I've now bought your software. A damaged file is found "Operating memory -> dllhost.exe(2860)". However, this cannot be deleted / cleaned.

Please help how to get the virus from my system. What information do you need?

Kind regards,

Emschaboy

Please provide logs collected with ESET Log Collector for a start. Make sure to select "Threat detection template" after launching ELC. Should the generated archive be too big to upload here, upload it to a file sharing service and drop me a personal message with a download link.

Please carry on as follows:
- enable detection of potentially unsafe applications
- enable ESET LiveGrid Feedback system
- reboot the machine
- run a full disk scan
- provide fresh ELC logs.

You can also set the "aggressive" reporting and cleaning for malware. While the likelihood of FP would be bigger than with "balanced" level, it would still be very low, however, detection of not yet known malware should be improved.

As for the LiveGrid Feedback system, enable it here:
