twins4384 1
Using Smart Security 7 on Win 7 64bit PC. I notice that Windows Defender panel says that Real Time Protection is ON. Should this be running alongside ESET and if not how do you disable Windows Defender? Any help appreciated.
SweX 871
Hello and welcome, No, you don't need to use Windows Defender along ESET. This tutorial shows how to disable/turn off Windows Defender in Win 7: hxxp://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/6397-windows-defender-turn-off.html Edited September 6, 2014 by SweX
rugk 397
I agree, I also recommend to deactivate the real-time protection of Windows Defender to improve the performance if another AV is installed. scottls59901 1
I agree, I also recommend to deactivate the real-time protection of Windows Defender to improve the performance if another AV is installed. This is True, but if you open MSconfig/Services- You will see that Defender is still running/slowing your computer, and Win updt will still download Defender! This is how I finally was Completely rid of Defender- Reboot (releases all files, and do this Before Any Install/Uninstall/...!), then Open Defender/Tools, and untick Every box in All the left box modules.../ reboot. Then open Services, Right click on Windows Defender/Properties, and Disable.../Reboot. Done!
