psychopomp1 5
Hi I'm running Smart Security on all of my PCs and i i have an Asus RT-AC87 router. It seems the only way i can access the config homepage of the router on my pc is by going to Setup --> Advanced Setup --> Web and Email --> Protocol Filtering --> Excluded IP addresses in ESS and excluding 192.168.1.1. Otherwise going to 192.168.1.1 takes forever to load.. Many other Asus users are reporting the same. Yet using another router such as Linksys also with 192.168.1.1 homepage this isn't an issue. Can this be fixed? Cheers Edited September 3, 2014 by psychopomp1
Administrators Solution Marcos 4,935 Posted September 3, 2014 Administrators Solution Share Posted September 3, 2014 This is a known issue with the simple http server used in ASUS routers. It needs to be looked at by Microsoft as there seems to be a bug in Windows Filtering Platform which is causing this. As an interim solution, excluding router's IP address from protocol filtering is recommended.

Emma 0
Once I had the same issue for opening 192.168.1.1. I was using IE, then as seen on Google forums, I used google Chrome browser and now everything works fine.
