micasayyo 4
HIPS in automatic or, better learning and then intelligent. I would like to know if it is a good option
Administrators Marcos 4,706 Posted February 17, 2022 Administrators Share Posted February 17, 2022 You can switch to Smart mode right away without using learning mode first, especially if you don't plan to use any custom rules. micasayyo
ESET Insiders xxJackxx 59 Posted February 21, 2022 ESET Insiders Share Posted February 21, 2022 I had actually just come here looking to ask the same question. I have been running defaults for quite some time so everything is automatic. Is Smart mode the recommended setting over automatic if no custom rules are set as implied? Is there any reason I would not want to do so? New_Style_xd
Administrators Marcos 4,706 Posted February 21, 2022 Administrators Share Posted February 21, 2022 I prefer using Smart mode which is like automatic mode, however, it asks for an action if certain specific suspicious operations are attempted. I am never received a HIPS alert from an internal based HIPS rule in this mode. As far as I am concerned, it is a "vapor-setting." Also, search past forum postings where others have posted the same. Mine always had it in the automatic settings, but I ended up changing it to smart mode here. Do you have a link so I can take a look at the differences between them?
