ESET Staff DuncanH 1 Posted February 11, 2022 ESET Staff Share Posted February 11, 2022 Hi The process is documented here, it is done from your console. There is a task that allows you to pause the authentication for time or number of reboots. There is also a policy to disable it. https://help.eset.com/efde/en-US/index.html?maintenance_mode.html
ESET Staff Kstainton 37 Posted February 11, 2022 ESET Staff Share Posted February 11, 2022 Hi @AFerreira, We have an option called "Maintenance Mode" available for EFDE: https://help.eset.com/efde/en-US/maintenance_mode.html Its purpose is to be used by IT Admins to allow them to perform maintenance work on their machines, e.g. Windows Updates which require multiple restarts. This mode allows them to temporarily disable the EFDE Pre-Boot Authentication screen so they don't need to know the users FDE Password to access to perform these updates. This is not to be used as a way to remove the EFDE Pre-Boot Authentication screen on a permanent basis. If you wish to have the Pre-Boot Authentication screen disabled on a permanent basis, I recommend you look into our flagship Encryption product EEE (ESET Endpoint Encryption), where you can use a mode call "No Extra Authentication" which uses the TPM to increase security, whereas EFDE does not have this feature: https://help.eset.com/eee_server/3/en-US/what_is_a_trusted_platform_module.html If you wish to know more I would recommend contacting your local ESET sales office: https://www.eset.com/be-nl/ (Belgium Dutch) or https://www.eset.com/be-fr/ (Belgium French)
