How to disable ESET Push Notification Service / Port 8883 persistent connection?

Recommended Posts

I updated my ESET AV recently and noticed that EKRN.exe now has a persistent connection to an eset server on port 8883. I already have the cloud features disabled so it is unrelated. On a quick search, this seems to be a new ESET Push Notification Service for the consumer client.

How do I disable this? I looked all over for a setting but do not see one. I do not appreciate a security product maintaining a persistent connection that I have no control over. This is enough for me to stop renewing my license if I cannot disable it.
