MAC Firewall Issue using Parallels to connect to Virtual Machine

Currently running a trial of ESET for our Business and have an issue where one of the Developers using a Mac.  When he is running Parallels on his Mac and tries to connect to his VM it will not connect. If he turns ESET firewall off he connects straight away.

Is there any steps or instructions on allowing connections to VMs on MAC to work through the firewall?

Does switching the firewall to interactive mode and allowing the necessary communication work?
