itman 1,659
I did another test. This time I used a .bat script to rename a file protected with a HIPS file modification rule. This also is more representative of an actual malware attack. This time Eset HIPS blocked the file modification attempt and no Win file access prompt appeared. As such, this problem appears to be a "quirk" related to Win Explorer use and not a major issue. -EDIT- I converted the .bat script to a .exe. Ran that and Eset HIPS file modification rule blocked it w/o Win file access prompt appearing. Edited January 16, 2022 by itman
